Don't know how to do background ..always a pain in the butt

The face has major anatomical problems because it was originally planned be a manga styled face.

Any suggestions for backgrounds?

It's another one of my vain attempts at coloring..yes..I decided I've had enough hiding away behind the black and whites. Can't dodge it forever. Might as well get practice..and hopefully that'll get me perfection right?

Thanks to :iconsweet-kitte: who had been the major critic of this work through out, I had so much advice from her that may be I should call this a collaboration.

3 days in Photoshop. Intuos tablet.

For the background, perhaps a few castle towers on the side, with a beautiful landscape in the distance, lik she is on a tower balcony.

And the moon rising....

I read your comments about this piece and remember this if nothing else:
I can always find fault in a piece that I do , but just because its not perfect doesnt mean it isnt still a good piece. You really did do an amazing job with this. Do what im doing as well.. keep practicing and you will eventually get where you want to be with the pieces that your not happy with. Stay encouraged ( im sure trying.. LOL) Its a beautiful piece as it is~

Oh my.. this is absolutely gorgeous Freda! I love the softness of the background, so that it doesn't draw attention away from your character and the peachy beige tones are so pretty! Personally, I don't think your inability to do backgrounds is a bad thing because this is beautiful the way it is. I love her pose and facial expression too.. especially her eyes errr eye. :D I know you like for your work to be critiqued so you can improve, but I'd have a hard time drawing more than a stick man sooo yeah. No critique from me. I do know what makes my eyes happy though, and all your artworks do that. :hug:
